NOTE: Anne wrote the diary from 12 June 1942 to 1 August 1944. The hiding place was betrayed and they were discovered on 4 August 1944. Anne died in the Bergen-Belsen Concentration Camp (northern Germany) in early March 1945 from typhoid.
